Sourcing · Product development · Packaging
Your product, made in Asia and finished down to the box.
Shanghai SPL develops and supplies products from Asian factories for international markets. We find and negotiate the factory, develop the product, design the packaging, inspect production and coordinate the dispatch. One counterpart answers for the whole order.

What sets the order apart
We do not stop at finding the factory
A product that arrives in a plain brown box competes on price alone. That is why naming, brand identity, folding cartons and corrugated shippers are part of what we deliver, not an extra step the buyer has to solve at home.
Quality is checked before the container closes
Each category has a written checklist agreed with the buyer before production starts. What gets measured, how many units are sampled and what counts as a reject are written down first, so the inspection report is a comparison and not an opinion.

01Written before production
The checklist is agreed with the buyer and signed off with the pre-production sample.
02Measured during the run
Sampling happens while the line is running, when a deviation can still be corrected.
03Photographed and reported
The buyer receives the report with photos of what passed and of what was rejected.
What backs the order
International warranty on every product we manage
Support does not end when the container is loaded. Every product managed through Shanghai SPL carries an international warranty, so the buyer has a written counterpart for what arrives.
- Written terms with the order
- The term, the cover and the claim route are stated in the quotation, before production.
- The same counterpart
- A claim is handled by the person who ran the order, not by a new department.
- Traceable to the batch
- The inspection report and the pre-production sample identify the batch under discussion.
What we need to quote
A quotation is only useful if it can be compared. These five lines are what turn a request into a number the buyer can decide on.
| What we ask | Why it changes the price | If you do not have it yet |
|---|---|---|
| The product, with a reference | A photo, a link or a physical sample fixes the specification we send to the factory. | We propose two or three references from the category and you choose. |
| The quantity per model | The factory prices per model, not per order. Splitting the same volume across many models raises the unit cost. | We quote at two volumes so the step in price is visible. |
| The target price | It tells us which factory tier to approach and which material to specify. | Give us the shelf price at destination and we work backwards. |
| The destination market | Voltage, plug, language on the pack and the certification required all depend on it. | Tell us the country and we list what the pack has to carry. |
| The date it has to be on the shelf | Production, artwork approval and sailing are planned backwards from that date. | We send the calendar for the category and you confirm. |
Questions buyers ask first
Do you sell from stock or produce to order?
We produce to order. The quotation states the production time for the quantity and the specification agreed, and the calendar is planned backwards from the date the goods have to be on the shelf.
Can we use our own brand on the product and on the packaging?
Yes. That is the usual case. We prepare the naming if the line does not have one yet, the brand identity for the product, the printed panel and the print files for the factory.
Who owns the packaging artwork?
The buyer. The dielines, the print files and the editable artwork are handed over with the order.
Do you inspect before shipping?
Yes. The checklist is agreed before production, sampling happens while the line is running and the report is sent with photographs before the container is loaded.
What does the international warranty cover?
The term, the cover and the claim route are written in the quotation for each order, before production starts. The claim is handled by the same person who ran the order.
Can you develop a product that does not exist yet in our market?
Yes. We start from the reference, the target price and the destination market, propose the factory tier and build the specification with samples before any tooling is committed.

Tell us the product and the target price
We reply with the sourcing plan, the packaging we propose and a quotation that can be compared.
